Hatim Al Taie is a renowned independent publisher and an acknowledged expert on the political and business environment of the Gulf region, who enjoys a huge following for his acumen and plain speak. Armed with a Masters in International Relations from New York University on top of a Baccalaureate in International Law from Mohammed V University in Rabat, he also holds Diplomas in the French Language and Cinematography and Mass Media. Along with this multi-dimensional education, he is fluent in Arabic, English, French, Spanish and Italian.
After returning to Oman post his studies, he launched a premium media services group – Prelude Communications – with a focus on the nascent hospitality, aviation and travel & tourism sectors. However, it was two years later that he really began his tryst with publishing by establishing Al Roya Press & Publishing in 1994. Now, 21 years later, Al Roya Press & Publishing stands out as a leader in its field. The magazines under the banner include ‘Al Roya’ Arabic monthly magazine, ‘Automan’ the region’s best car magazine and ‘Crème de la Crème’ which is Oman’s only exclusive luxury magazine.
In addition to these Al Roya also produces some of the finest books, maps and guides in the country in many languages, all with an aim to communicate Oman’s traditions and grandeur to the wider world.
Outside his business sphere, Hatim Al Taie is also deeply rooted in the community; spearheading CSR efforts that help spread literacy and education as well as assisting marginalised families.
