Simon is a 15 year veteran of intelligence and security technologies including his 9 years in leadership roles at BAE Systems Applied Intelligence. Simon speaks, blogs and writes articles on the opportunities and risks businesses face in a hyper-connected world. Simon moved to the Middle East in 2015 to lead BAE Systems Applied Intelligence’s regional hub offering cyber security product and services to the commercial sector in the Gulf.

Simon’s previous roles in Applied Intelligence include leading the division responsible for developing new solutions to counter the increasing cyber threat to critical national infrastructure. Successes include IndustrialProtect, a network segmentation solution to protect industrial control systems from cyber attack, EnterpriseProtect for secure web-browsing and DeviceProtect to deliver secure mobile working and mitigate the risk posed by the decline of Blackberry. His security programme experience covers the full risk management cycle from risk assessment to monitoring and response provided by BAE Systems Advanced Security Operations Centre which integrates threat intelligence, incident response and monitoring capabilities.

Simon works as a trusted advisor on several programmes to accelerate the safe introduction of new technologies such as mobile, industrial automation and operational intelligence through information exchange, analytics and visualisation. He holds a Masters of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing Systems from Bristol University in the United Kingdom and is a Chartered Engineer.
