Speaker Bio

Ali Zuhair Al Khaburi is in charge of developing, implementing and maintaining Cyber and Information Security Governance for both Information and Operation Technologies (IT/OT) in PDO. In IT, he leads the Information Security (IS) Programme which resulted in establishing and maintaining PDO’s Information Security Management System (ISMS) certification based on ISO 27001. He also is an advisor to the Ministry of Oil & Gas’s Information Security Team.

In PDO OT, he currently is responsible to define, ensure implementation and maintenance of a Cyber Security Governance programme for PDO’s Industrial Control Systems for Oil, Gas and Electrical systems and processes which includes SCADA and safety systems based on IEC/ISA 62443.

His career spans 14 years in IT Operations and Security ranging from Systems Engineering, Backup and Storage Management, SAP Basis and for the last 8 years has specialised in the field of Information Security. He holds an MBA from West Virginia University as a Fulbright scholar and a BSc in Computer and Business Studies from the University of Warwick.
