Speaker Bio

Simon began a secondment to the UK’s Department for International Trade in July 2019. His role, which has a Gulf-wide remit, is to work with UK industry on their larger government cyber and security deals, particularly where customers have defence and security relationships with the UK government.

Before that, Simon spent 20 years in the British government in a range of roles with the Foreign Office and Ministry of Defence including on several overseas tours, the last of which was to the UK Mission to the UN in New York, where he worked on Security Council issues as Political Counsellor.
