Mrs. Nahla Juma Al Balushi
Acting general Manager, IT, Central Bank of Oman, Oman
Over 20 years’ experience in the IT field. Started her career as a Systems Engineer at Petroleum Development of Oman LLC where she worked on security related projects. Moved to Central Bank of Oman as a Senior Information Security Officer. Currently heading the Information Security Management Department. Nahla is aiming to raise the importance of information security, and the risks associated with the confidentially, integrity and availably of the data. Her main objective is to link the strategic business objectives of the organization with the Information Security objectives. She is interested in Information Security Compliance. She was nominated by the government to be part of the UK-GCC Women in Cyber Security Fellowship Program 2019-2020, and currently working on the Cyber Security Skills Gap research project as an outcome of the fellowship program. In 2020, she won the Executive Lady in Cybersecurity award from the Middle East Women in Cybersecurity Association (WiCSME) in the virtual conference held in November 2020. Attained her BSc in Information Systems from Sultan Qaboos University, and MSc in Information Technology from the University of Glasgow. In 2017, Nahla attended the Essentials of Leadership Program at London Business School, and completed an online program called Disruptive Strategy at Harvard Business School in April 2018. Nahla is Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and passed the Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) Exam.
