“ Cybersecurity Innovation and Industry Development ”


A reference to the successes achieved by the Regional Cyber Security Week organized by the ITU - Regional Cybersecurity Center that is hosted by the Sultanate of Oman since 2013, which was widely praised by local and international participants. Given the importance of the topics addressed in the conference, in addition to the participation of a group of international experts and speakers in the conference, as well as a group of international companies that participated in the accompanying exhibition and presented a range of solutions and technologies in the field of electronic security, which enhanced the success of this conference with the participation of more than 400 participants from more than 40 countries annually.
The ITU - Arab Regional Cybersecurity Center (ITU-ARCC) is in the process of organizing the Regional Cybersecurity Week in Abu Dhabi - the United Arab Emirates, from 9 to 12 October 2023 on the sidelines of the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX). It was generously hosted by the United Arab Emirates, represented by the Cyber Security Council, and in cooperation with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).


This week includes many activities aimed at:

  • Attracting international experts and speakers to learn about countries' experiences in this field.
  • Highlighting the most important developments in the field of cybersecurity, threats and security risks in the information arena.
  • Learn about strategies to face the challenge of cybersecurity at the national levels, especially governments, national infrastructure institutions and vital industries.
  • Responding effectively to cyber security incidents and finding preventive measures to avoid exposure to them and reduce the scope of their effects.

Regional Cybersecurity Week Events

OIC-CERT board meeting
8th October 2023

The annual meeting of the Board of Directors of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation for the National CERTs, to discuss and identify priorities and initiatives of common interest and follow up on the 2023 business plan, which focuses on strengthening the cybersecurity industry and innovation in the Islamic countries and aspects of cooperation with international organizations.

The 11th Regional Arab, OIC-CERT & CIS Cyber Drill
9th - 10th October 2023

The ITU Arab Regional Cybersecurity Centre (ITU-ARCC) is organizing the 11th Regional Arab Cyber Drill - Applied Learning for Emergency Response Teams (ALERT) for the Arab Region. The Cyber Drill dedicated to National Arab, CIS, and OIC CERT’s, private CERT’s and critical sectors security operation centers. The Cyber Drill simulates the latest trends of cyber-attacks and measures the confidence and ability of the participants through number of crafted environments engaging the participants in real life scenarios, putting them under pressure to measure their ability to respond and communicate effectively with other stakeholders among the region’s national Computer Incident Response Teams (CIRTs) to overcome the presented obstacles and circumstances. It aims to expose the participants from the national Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) or incident response teams, to various scenarios based on case studies and real-life situations.

The 11th Arab Cybersecurity Cooperation Team (ACCT) meeting
10th October 2023

The Directors or the Representatives from (CERTS) will meet at the 11th Annual Arab Meeting (ACCT) to explore areas of cooperation in the cybersecurity field of the Arab Region. This Meeting is a consultative gathering for the General Directors and Heads of the Arab National Cybersecurity Centers to discuss fields of enhancing cyber security in the Arab Region. The Meeting will discuss the most important aspects of joint cooperation, prominent challenges faced in cyberspace, the rapid development of software and threats that pose as a risk to institutions and individuals.

11th Regional Cyber Security Summit
11th – 12th October 2023

The 11th Regional Cybersecurity Summit 2023 aims to share experiences, consolidate and enhance cooperation among countries in the field of cybersecurity and identify clear mechanisms to tackle threats and attacks in the Arab and international cyber space. The Summit will be attended by delegates from more than 60 countries. The Summit will focus on the importance of Cybersecurity Innovation and Industry Development, as innovation is the key driver to enhance the industry and aspires to create smart digital solutions that will enhance the way of life with security as a critical element, to build trust on utilizing technology in safe and productive manner.

The 15th annual OIC-CERT conference & FIRST Symposium for Arab and Africa
11th - 12th October 2023

The symposium provides an appropriate platform for senior ICT and cyber security officials from the African and Arab regions to discuss and formulate strategic directions and plans to tackle emerging threats to the global and regional cybersecurity sector.
